History Week at the Life-Saving Station Museum

For this year’s Ocean City History Week the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum is offering a variety of events and activities to highlight the town’s unique coastal history.
 
HISTORY WEEK EVENTS Include:
 
 
October 10 – 16: FREE Admission for all Eastern Shore Locals: During history week we are offering free admission to all Eastern Shore locals. If you live on the Delmarva Peninsula stop by and enjoy the museum free of charge!

History Comes to Life: 1:00 pm-4:00 pm October 10th FREE Watch the Ocean Pines Players theater group represent figures from Ocean City’s past!  


History of our Surfmen: Every Monday at 1:00 pm join us for a free program as we take a look at the equipment used by the United States Life-Saving Service. This program will be held inside the museum’s boat room. 
Tuesday, October 11th Book Signing & Reading 11:00 am -3:00 pm | Local author, Maria Grosskett 
Local author Maria Grosskettler will sign copies of her newest book, “Tracks.” In addition to reading a section from her book, she will share her experience researching Berlin’s history. 
 
Book signing with Author’s Mabel Roger’s and Harry Wenzel
11:00 am – 3:00 pm October 13th FREE 
 
Author Harry Wenzel will be introducing his book The Ship Faithful Steward A Story of Scots Irish, English, and Irish Migration to Pennsylvania. This story tells the history of the ship and its fateful voyage off the Delaware coast. 
 
Author Mabel Rogers will be introducing her book The Storm That Changed a Village. This fictional tale takes you on a journey of what life was like in 1933 and the storm that forever changed Ocean City.  
 
Harbor Days at the Docks October 15th 10:00 am to 3:00 PM. You can visit us at Harbor Days on the docks, This event features artisan exhibits, seafood cooking demonstrations, tales of the sea, children’s activities and
much more. Located at the Ocean City commercial fishing harbor.
